Camellias are beautiful, shade-loving, evergreen shrubs. While they only bloom once a year they have a long bloom time of up to 2 months! Different varieties bloom from late fall through winter and into early spring. Their blooms provide important winter food to our honey bee and humming bird populations. The humming birds also use these dense, dark green shrubs as habitat to nest in. Camellias are fairly slow growing which makes them exceptionally easy to prune and shape. They are hardy plants that need little water once established.
